Reading this recipe, I was wondering how could mixing raw onion with lemon produce an edible salad. The recipe did contain some sugar, but even that was marked as an optional ingredient. I was a little bit curious to find out what would it taste like. After all, the previous recipe I’d made from that book had been fantastic (broad bean salad with cumin dressing – I didn’t take any photos of that).
Unfortunately this salad tasted just like I had imagined it would: completely inedible. I even double-checked the recipe to see if I had missed something, but didn’t find any mistakes.
