In Nishiki Market, I came across a food stand that was selling barbecue food. One of these was this skewer shown here. I asked a man next to me what it was, and he responded by making bird gestures and saying "chu, chu! Oishii desu!" Some sort of delicious bird, I guess? I later determined that it was the infamous sparrow-on-a-stick.
