Towards the end a long white snack could be seen from the upper stands emerging in the crowd on the pitch. We think it was plastic cups stacked together.
The event was good – but Wembley itself it a monster of waste, serving mostly junk food and pop in plastic beakers. There were recycling bins for plastic, however we’d have saved a lot more energy if they’d allowed people to keep the tops on their water bottles and provided drinking water taps.
There was some healthy food but they could do a lot more, perhaps by opening up the catering to other companies so there is some choice.
