Are you coming on a trip to Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park?
Yes. An excursion or trip is when you visit a place, like a city or museum, anywhere to learn about it, have fun and do some exercise. You will enjoy all this and much more if you spend a day out at Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park with friends, family or workmates. Due to the size and great variety of things to do at our park all are bound to have fun! This is the perfect place to visit to try new and different experiences: Interact with sea lions, get carried away with our breathtaking birds of prey exhibition as eagles, speedy falcons, vultures even a condor (the largest of birds) fly over your head at very low distance! Or have a laugh while our clever parrots and cockatoos entertain you with their demonstrations. Why not go for a ride on a pony or canoeing? Enjoy our delicious American-like meals or a menu meal at the Splash & pool area where there are pools for all ages with fun attractions and games. Or just take a walk around our wonderful gardens with a great variety of plants and enjoy the sight of lovely animals, reptiles and exotic birds, which live in recreated installations and spaces adapted as their natural habitats. Walking around our park you will feel a relaxing atmosphere as well as having fun!

An Ango Thanksgiving

I explained the story of Thanksgiving, we went around the table talking about things that have been difficult this year and things that we have been thankful and then we shared a big family meal of goat, pondu, rice and brownies! A Thanksgiving I will never forget. Thanks Mom for the decorations! Also, I had no American flag, so the Californian flag worked perfect.

CAMP HUMPHREYS — Soldiers, Family members and civilians of United States Army Garrison Humphreys celebrated with a holiday meal on Dec. 9 at the Community Activity Center.

The event included a gourmet buffet, live music by the 8th Army band, and holiday trivia.

“We were faced with so many challenges this year, but it also has been a lot of fun”, said USAG Humphreys Commander, Col Joseph P. Moore. He also thanked directorates for their work during the past year.

“Leaders in Seoul have a lot of trust and confidence in Camp Humphreys, and those who worked hard for this organization deserve a lot of credit,” he said.

“This is a great holiday party and serves as a capstone to all the hard work”, added Command Sgt. Maj. Spencer, Gray, the USAG Humphreys senior enlisted Soldier. “We don’t get to see everyone at once, so this is a great time to meet others.”

CAMP HUMPHREYS – Every other Wednesday, from 11:30 a.m. until the food runs out, the United Services Organization, or USO, here provides a free program called “Lunchbox.”

This year, all USO free lunches are sponsored by the Exchange New Cars Sales and desserts are donated primarily by military spouses, like Michelle Sibinski, the wife of Chief Warrant Officer 2 Michael J. Sibinski, assigned to Company C, 302nd General Support Aviation Battalion. Michelle also works at the Camp Humphreys Commissary as a cashier.

“I have been in that situation when you don’t have anything and I just want to give back to my community what I have now,” she said. “This is a small community here, and pretty much everyone knows everybody, and, you know, doing these little things makes a big difference, especially, for those who are far away from home and family. Little closures like this help a lot and warm everybody’s heart.”

A group of volunteers led by Kap Brown, the USO duty manager, made all the preparations for the event and were serving a hearty meal for several dozen Soldiers.

“It is a lot of fun and it is very rewarding to give back,” said Rosie Majka, an Army wife who has been volunteering at the USO since last April.

The event has received very positive responses from Soldiers.

“I think it is a really great community outreach that USO is doing, and I know that the Soldiers definitely appreciate it,” said Staff Sgt. Brian R. Simon, assigned to 4-58th Airfield Operation Battalion.

The next USO Lunchbox is scheduled for Jan. 23. They will have hotdogs and desserts. For those who would like to donate something or have any questions, contact the USO at 753-6281.
