Our New Years eve celebration started at home with a fantastic meal cooked by Gina. We then moved off to Jared’s mom’s place for drinks and the countdown.

I think my sister longs to be a giant. For as long as I can remember, she has had an obsession with using tiny silverware to eat her meals. Perhaps it is because the tallest member of our family in recent memory is 5’9”. Or maybe she identifies more with the Giant than his vegetable scaling murderer in the classic fairy tale that celebrates theft and homicide.
Regardless of the rational behind her obsession, I knew this fork and spoon was destined for my sister’s kitchen table.
Since the act of opening a gift is one of the most enjoyable parts of gift-giving for both the giver and receiver, pleasure in packaging was a significant concern. I came up with a solution consisting entirely of recycled materials.

Sodexo employees at UPS Headquarters & volunteers from The Coca-Cola Company celebrated Feeding Our Future for serving more than 125,000 free summer lunches to Atlanta’s children, including 11,000 meals tin the summer of 2011. Former U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young was also on hand for a special BBQ held at the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA.

Baked at 350 for 10 minutes, uncovered; 15 more minutes covered.

Food, games, a toy giveaway and a visit from Santa welcomes Steel Brigade Soldiers and their families at the North Carolina National Guard’s 113th Sustainment Brigade Christmas party at their headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, Dec. 4, 2016. Children and their parents waited in line for a chance to visit Santa. Then the families got a chance visit Santa’s workshop, usually a suite of offices off the unit’s drill hall, packed with dolls, games and toys of all types thanks to the Dollar Tree and Operation Homefront Other events included award presentations for several retired Soldiers and a holiday meal prepared by the unit’s cooks with help from the American Legion. Coordinator supported the event through an educational table highlighting the mission of the Navy Gold Star Program and resources for surviving families.
