The author describes gourmet family meals for special occasions throughout the four seasons of the year. For the author, his wife and two daughters any meal was a special occasion, and all these menus, recipes and cooking methods were worked out and perfected in the author"s kitchen. The author writes, "This book is a record of the gastronomic experiences of our family, set down over many years and now arranged for the gastronomic pleasure of other families."
