More than 100 Advance Individual Training Soldiers where matched with local community members at the annual Thanksgiving Adopt-a-Soldier meet and greet event at Eifler Fitness Center here Nov. 20, 2018. Soldiers will enjoy a meal at the home of their adopters on Thanksgiving Day. The event is an opportunity to meet, discuss food and activity preferences and coordinate travel arrangements. This popular adoption event provides a break in the training routine for Soldiers, many who are experiencing their first major holiday away from loved ones.

A woman cooking (probably the only meal) outside her home which was damaged by Aila, trying to get to back to life. They are being supported by UNICEF through its partner Ramakrishna Mission Lok Shiksha Parishad who are providing jerry cans, tarpaulins, family hygiene kits, ORS and halogen tablets for purifying water.
Cyclone Aila (RSMC Designation: BOB02, JTWC Designation: 02B, also known as Severe Cyclonic Storm Aila) was the second tropical cyclone to form within the Northern Indian Ocean during 2009. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclone_Aila)
