The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) hosted a policy seminar titled Taking It to Scale: Insights from IFPRI’s Research on Improving Nutrition Behaviors in Multiple Contexts on June 28, 2017. Speaking at the event were Purnima Menon, Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Health, and Nutrition Division, IFPRI; Karin Lapping, Project Director, Alive & Thrive; Kaosar Afsana, Director of the Health, Nutrition and Population Programme, BRAC (via video); and Ellen Piwoz, Senior Program Officer, Nutrition Division of Global Development Program of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Marie Ruel, Director of the Poverty, Health, and Nutrition Division, IFPRI, served as chair.
The seminar presented key findings from a set of studies from the Alive & Thrive initiative focusing on whether large-scale initiatives aimed at changing behaviors can improve the diet quality of mothers, infants, and young children.
