The rot sets in…
After my first boyfriend ditched me, for whatever reason I decided it would be a good idea to turn myself into a human toilet brush. This, for those of my readers born too late to recognise it, is the results of the hairdressing technique formerly know as "the perm". Gosh, it really is shocking isn’t it? I’ll have you know I adored it at the time though.
One of the great mysteries of this photo is why I had used the sunroom curtains to make my Christmas Day dress. I guess I did watch The Sound of Music quite a few times, but still……
And look how fat I was too: no wonder my family is starving me with such a measly portion of Christmas lunch.
Oh, and I’m not sure what message this might have for young girls these days, but, the perm worked and he had me back. Though Billy Bragg fan that he must have been, he always did say he liked me better when my hair was long……………show me a woman who has never heard that line and I’ll show you a woman who’s never cut her hair 🙂
Like all things the reunion didn’t last, but that’s a story you’re going to have to wait for….
