More than 20 senior members of the command served food to soldiers and civilians during the Thanksgiving lunch held at Camp Zama Dining Facility Nov. 21. The meal included turkey and all of the traditional trimmings, including stuffing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. They served for more than 400 people.
About the United States Army Garrison Japan:
The United States Army Garrison Japan and its 16 supported installation sites are located in the island of Honshu and Okinawa in Japan. The USAG Japan mission is to support the Headquarters, U.S. Army Japan / I Corps (fwd) to ensure mission readiness and the quality of life of the Army community in a sustainable, transforming joint and combined environment.
The USAG-J area of responsibility spans 1,500 miles from north to south of Japan. Camp Zama, home for both HQ USARJ and USAG-J is located approximately 25 miles southwest of Tokyo in the cities of Zama and Sagamihara in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The Camp Zama base cluster includes Sagamihara Housing Area and Sagami General Depot.
Akasaka Press Center is located in the center of Tokyo. The Akizuki/Kure area near Hiroshima is an ammunition depot. USAG Torii Station is located 980 miles southwest of Camp Zama on the island of Okinawa.

Person-to-Person Receives Grant

State Senator Bob Duff presents Norwalk’s Person-to-Person with a ,000 grant from the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA). The funds will be used to provide thousands of free meals and other assistance to local families in need. (August 7, 2014)

As part of the Partners in Care program, Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, Maryland donates 50 Thanksgiving meals for Maryland National Guard service members at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore, Maryland, Nov. 19, 2018.
This is the tenth year in a row that Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, Maryland has donated meals to MDNG #CitizenSoldiers. The meal includes a turkey and some traditional sides.
The Partners in Care program is an initiative of the #MDNG where local congregations provide support to Maryland National Guard members and their families when they are in need. Services include counseling for individuals, couples and Families; child care; basic household and auto repairs; emergency food, clothing and housing support; crisis and grief counseling; and transportation. Each congregation in the program provides support within the limits of its ability free of charge, regardless of religious affiliation and without any obligation.

Nancy – Head Teacher working with PEEK

Nancy is the Head Teacher at Dalmarknock Primary School she works closely with a community project called PEEK, whose mission is to work with children, young people and families to improve life chances.
Nancy has been Head Teacher at the school for the past 9 years. During this time she has seen the school double in size to over 400 children.
There are now 46 different mother tongues spoken in school. The universal language of children is play so she has been delighted to become involved with PEEK through their support at breakfast club, lunch club, A Community In Motion, Family meal/Homework club and most recently at summer club.
This has helped the school become inclusive and has increased parental engagement in all aspects of school life.
“PEEK brighten up our school in all sorts of ways – their cheery smiles, the bright red sweatshirts, the chalk in the yard – it’s hard to imagine school without them. When asked to join the board I jumped at the opportunity to give something back to this amazing group who give so much to our community”.
