At the opening of the exhibition 2015 in the AdbK Munich Kalas Liebfried was introduced by the president of the academy, Dieter Rehm, because of a special piece of artwork this artist realized in the staircase of the building:
A landscape of craters from the far side of the moon, which was worked out of the inner wall of the building and caused some trouble with the administration of the organisation.
As head of the organisation he is in a conflict: As an artist he would always defend the freedom of art, but as the president he is responsible for maintaining the institution.
After I could win Kalas as a participant for my photo project "100 Strangers" it was even more exciting to ask the chief of the organisation for his photo. Obligingly he agreed, maybe because he thought of me as a kind of reporter.
The portrait shows an expression of doubt or scepticism on his face caused by this action – this image is therefore a document of that special situation.

Bei der Eröffnung der diesjährigen Jahresausstellung in der Akademie der bildenden Künste (AdbK) stellte Dieter Rehm, der Präsident dieser ehrwürdigen Institution, das Kunstwerk von Kalas Liebfeld "the far side of the moon" heraus und thematisierte in seiner Rede das Spannungsfeld zwischen Freiheit der Kunst und dem Erhalt der Institution. Als Kopf der Organisation befände er sich in einem Zwiespalt: Als Künstler würde er sich immer für die Freiheit der Kunst entscheiden, allerdings müsse er als Präsident der Institution auch seine Pflicht(en) erfüllen…
Nachdem ich den Künstler Kalas Liebfried als Stranger #010 für die Teilnahme an meinem "100 Strangers-Projekt" gewonnen hatte, fand ich es besonders spannend, als nächstes den Chef des Hauses zu porträtieren.
Dieser liess sich nicht lange bitten, möglicherweise hielt er mich aber im Stress der Eröffnungsveranstaltung auch für einen Pressevertreter, der über die Realisierung des umstrittenen Kunstwerks im Treppenhaus des Gebäudes und den dadurch ausgelösten Aufruf berichten wollte.
Die beiden Porträtaufnahmen haben deshalb auch einen ausgeprägten Reportage-Charakter, weil die Veränderungen an der Wand des Treppenhauses auf Veranlassung der Verwaltung wieder rückgängig gemacht werden müssen und dieses Kunstwerk deshalb nur für begrenzte Zeit sichtbar sein wird.
Der Gesichtsausdruck des Präsidenten lässt deutlich den Zweifel und die Skepsis erkennen, die diese Aktion ausgelöst hat, und stellt insofern auch ein Dokument zum Tagesgeschehen dar.
Ich habe mich gefreut, dass Herr Rehm bereit war, an meinem Fotoprojekt teilzunehmen und ein paar Minuten seiner wertvollen Zeit zu erübrigen. Er hat mir damit die einmalige Gelegenheit gegeben, ein voraussichtlich nicht wiederholbares Foto im Rahmen dieser Präsentation als Stranger #011 zeigen zu können.

Al tempo stesso non dimenticherà il grande tema del lavoro della terra, dei suoi antichi diritti e dei temi nuovi della giustizia distributiva del cibo su scala mondiale.
Il Villaggio rappresenta una nuova funzionalizzazione di un’area di 4000 mq già interna a Città della Scienza che, per 365 giorni all’anno, sarà uno spazio attivo di didattica, formazione, eventi.
Il 23 giugno abbiamo posto la prima pietra ideale del Villaggio che poi nei fatti non ne porrà alcuna in senso letterale: le piante sono i nostri mattoni e le protagoniste dei lavori di allestimento. I primi due orti hanno preso vita durante la manifestazione di presentazione del progetto a cui hanno partecipato tutti coloro che, Mondo della Scuola, Istituzioni Universitarie e di Ricerca, Parchi e Enti locali, Corpi dello Stato e Associazioni, Imprese e singole personalità, saranno i protagonisti attivi della sua vita e delle sue iniziative.
