The 55th Bon Odori Festival

Camp Zama’s 55th annual Bon Odori Festival was held on Aug. 2 with nearly 28,000 Japanese and American community members visiting the installation for this event. There was bon dancing, food, live music, games and other entertainment. A fireworks display was held at the end of the evening. (Courtesy photos by Camp Zama FMWR)

Durkee Steak Feed in Baker City
The Durkee Steak Feed is a long standing annual community fundraising event for the small town of Durkee Oregon and a rare celebration of what makes small town life so wonderful. The Durkee Steak Feed was named the Oregon Festivals and Events Association’s Best Philanthropic Event in Oregon in 2014
The Durkee Steak Feed actually takes place in Baker City at the Quail Ridge Golf Course during the Baker City Memory Cruise. The locally grown steaks and incredible “Cowboy Fried” Bread are guaranteed to steal the show.
The Baker City Memory Cruise includes a show and shine at Baker City’s Geiser Pollman Park, a cruise through historic downtown Baker City and ends with the cars on display at Quail Ridge Golf Course during the Steak Feed
